preferred name ; Bethatron or Bethy I suppose
age ; 27 now sigh sad day.
how you prefer to be contacted ; Cakes with messages written in icing only please. Or I suppose an owl would work.
characters you already play ; Check out my COC as I'm so not writing all those names out.character information!
the basics
character name ; Cody Arvell Dash
nickname(s) ; Cody doesn't see the point in a nickname as his name is so short.
age ; 16
date of birth ; 08/18/1993
blood status; Muggleborn
sexual orientation ; Bisexual honestly Cody isn't even sure. He's not attracted to a certain sex, but a certain attitude. He also uses sex as a defense mechanism so that makes his sexuality hard to pin down.
wand ; 10 inch Birch wand with Manticore venom core.
affiliation ; Cody is only out for himself. Of course he'd not very welcome in the Death Eater's Camp, but he's still unlikely to get involved with the order and getting into such things just isn't good for one's health.
the appearance
height & weight ; Cody is fairly average when it comes to his height. He's exactly five foot ten which puts him a little smaller than a lot of guys his age, but not substantially so. His weight is where he differs. Cody is very thin close to the point of emaciation. He weighs about a hundred and forty pounds and he looks it. He's very thin and more often than not one can see his ribs and a lot of his other bones. His frame is willowy and vaguely feminine. From the back he can easily be taken as a very skinny girl who had few curves because of her weight.
hair ; Cody was born with naturally very dark hair. This is something he's never really messed with. He has had the same basic hair style for a very long time. He likes it short on the side and fairly long on top. Sometimes he'll let it grow out extra long, but that depends on his mood. He tends to keep his hair in a various selections of unique hair styles that range from rock style to just plain messy. Some times he'll spike it and sometimes he'll barely wash it.
eyes ; Cody had pretty eyes than are soft blue color. Of course they often look darker because of the eyeliner he tends to wear. He actually doesn't like his eyes and hasn't for a very long time. So he tends to squint and do whatever he can to distract from his eyes. Not too many people look at your eyes when you distract them with everything else about your image. That's important to him. When one does see his eyes they might be a pretty color, but they have a look to them that most find uncomfortable. He tends to have a world weary sort of look as if he's seen everything the world has to offer and has found none of it to be good.
facial features ; Cody's face is most easily labeled as androgynous. He has a mixed bag of facial features that make him both equal parts masculine and feminine. His general face shape is soft with no sharp edges. His nose is probably the most masculine part of his face and is on the rather wide side. It is his nose that probably keeps him from looking completely like a girl. It's up between his soft cheek bones, and his very feminine looks for what feature gives him the most feminine appearance. He tends to tone down the feminine in his make with make up which ironically enough can give his face a sharper look which does indeed make him look more masculine.
distinguishing features ; The boy can lay claim to a lot of distinguishing mark. Most of which are the tattoos that claim a large part of his body. He has tattoos covering most of both his arms, one oh his chest, and a few on his legs. He of course still technically too young to have one tattoo much less a bunch of them. However the first person to adopt him was a tattoo artist in hobby and often used Cody as a sketch pad. Cody wars between liking his tattoos and hates them. He is of course stuck with them, but he can never decide if they mark him as a freak or if they show what he's survived. He also has a single scar on his left side. It's a rather large jagged scar that looks like it was carved out by glass. Which it was. This will be explained in the history.
style ; Like the rest of him Cody's style tends to stick out. And again it tends to waver with his moods. Sometimes he wears very relaxed clothes. When he's feeling pretty good he's known to wear a pair of skinny jeans and a shirt that more often than not has some sort of funny saying on it. When he's not feeling very good he tends to dress for war. For him this tends to mean leather, spikes, collars, chains, and such. He tends to dress like this when he's feeling the most vulnerable to make up for the feeling he's experiencing.

the personality
likes ;
FIGHTING There are two times in Cody's life where he has no doubts, fears, and none of the nagging thoughts that usually pursue him like hungry wolves. Fighting happens to be one of those times. When he fights he may not feel in control, but he feels neither weak nor vulnerable. He also enjoys the burn of it even the bruises and the scrapes one gains. The fact that his tendency to fight makes some people leave him alone is also a bonus he appreciates. He has to be in the mood to fight, but when he is he'll fight just for the hell of it. When he's in this sort of mood his temper is notoriously short and even the wrong look can set him off.
BACON Some people like sweets, some people like salty snacks, but without a doubt Cody's favorite food is bacon. He loves the smell, the taste, the texture. He has a tendency to but bacon on just about anything he eats. His favorite snack is a vanilla sundae with crumbled bacon pieces. He's not consciously aware of it, but the reason he loves bacon so much was that while his mother was alive she made him bacon every Sunday. Sunday was of course the best day in their household as it was the only day he ever got to see her for long.
LAWERENCE LIGHTLY Cody has a definite love/hate relationship with Lawerence. The man is very annoying and as strict as a nun. However despite this he is also probably the only adult Cody trusts. He was the guy who took him into his home even though no one else wanted Cody. He might not have much to give since he takes care of so many kids, but he gives Cody what he can and while Cody definitely bitches he still appreciates the fact that's he not living with another Torrin. Lawerence is hard on him, but he is also very patient. He keeps taking Cody back no matter how often he runs away, no matter how many fights he gets into, no matter how much he messes up. So while Cody rarely has anything nice to say about the man Cody still likes him as well as he can. And sees him as the closest thing to a father he'll ever have
SEX Sex is to Cody like a weapon. It's the time when he feels the strongest and the least vulnerable. He feels in control and like he can't be touched. There is something very liberating about sex for Cody which is why he's not very picky. He gets the same rush of good feelings no matter who it is. It also probably the only time Cody really connects with people. He also sees sex as beautiful, and treats it almost like an art form. Some people call him freaky or easy, but he truly believes that they only say that because they don't understand how freeing sex can be.
MAGIC Everyone fantasizes about magic. About being able to change the world with a special word and a wave of a wand. For a large portion of his life Cody thought magic was a horrible tease. People fantasizing about powers they'd never have so they could change a world that was destroying them. He thought for the longest time that it was pointless to hope for the power to change anything much less the world. However when he found out magic really did exist that changed everything. Of course initially it caused him more problems than it gave him solutions. But it marked the first time Cody actually had hope. It wasn't a big hope or one he believed in very strongly, but it was a tiny ray of hope that maybe just maybe things would work out. This of course wouldn't be such a big thing to most people, but to Cody it's huge.
MONEY Cody has never been part of a rich family. He's never had much to call his own. When he lived with his mother they lived hand to mouth never having enough. When he lived with Torrin there was plenty of money to be had, but none of it would find it's way to Cody or even be used to buy him much of anything. And when he was moved to Lawerence's foster home there was very little money to be had since the man was taking care of any where from five to eight kids at any one time. However the lack of money made Cody value whatever little amount he managed to get his hands on even more valuable. He's a thrifty boy, but even having a few extra knuts in his possession makes him happy. He feels more comfortable having money of his own.
dislikes ;
THE PAST Any one that looks at Cody can tell he's a boy haunted by a lot of things. This is something that no one can change. It is also something Cody doesn't like brought up. He hates the life he's lived before he discovered magic. He hates the fact that those events have obviously shaped the way he has become. But what he hates the most is talking about it. There is nothing he can do to change the past, but he can try his damnedest to pretend that it never happened. There is no better way to set him off than to try to make him talk about his past. Countless counselors have tried, but they've all learned that Cody will not talk about it. He does his best to not think about it and that's really hard when people keep trying to make you talk about it.
BEING TOUCHED A lot of people think this is a bit of a contradiction given his promiscuous nature. However Cody is not a boy who enjoys the casual touch. If he's not having sex he doesn't want to be touched. While it's been a long time since anyone has hurt him he still doesn't trust most touching. Every time someone touches him when sex isn't involved he's always expecting a blow. This makes him angry not just because of the fear, but the fact that even years later he still responds to the things Torrin taught him. All of his friends know this and while they don't necessarily understand it everyone quickly learn not to touch him very much.
LAWERENCE LIGHTLY Cody has an odd relationship with the man who mostly raises him. He respects the man and even in his own way likes the man. However more often than not Lawerence drives him absolutely bonkers. The man is always demanding things and he expects far to much from Cody or at least Cody belevies. He doesn't care how often the man tells him what he's capable of mostly Cody just wants to be left alone. He doesn't want to be nagged to about his grades, or making friends, or talking about his problems, or cleaning his room. He just wants to be left alone to take care of himself. Lawerence is of course a very stubborn old man who never capitiulates to Cody no matter how much the boy rages.
PRESENTS It's not often when one finds a child who doesn't like receiving gifts. However Cody is one such child, but mostly because of the negative connotation he's learned to associate with gifts. When he was young his mother almost never gave him gifts because there was no money for them. He wouldn't start to get gifts until Torrin adopted him. Of course those gifts only came after Torrin hurt Cody particularly badly. He was never fooled into thinking of them as anything other than bribes. Of course Cody didn't care about bribes and only kept quiet about Torrin, because of fear. So Cody has truly learned that all gifts come with strings. No one just gives you something for nothing. They either want something or are making up for something.
ADULTS Adults are supposed to take care of and protect children however in Cody's life this isn't quite the case. With the exception of Lawerence every adult of any real importance to Cody has either hurt him or betrayed him. His father left when he was very young. His mother proved too weak to take care of herself much less Cody. Torrin took advantage and hurt Cody. He had learned the hard way that just because someone is supposed to help you or take care of you doesn’t mean they actually will. In fact it's those that are supposed to be there for you that are most likely to hurt you. He doesn't trust much of anyone, but he is especially suspicious of adults.
strengths ;
FIGHTER Anyone who looks at Cody can tell that he's not exactly had the ideal childhood. Few people would know how hard his life really was mostly because he doesn't let on. Cody is doubtlessly scarred and he's far from being a healthy normal young man, but given his circumstances he's doing very well. This is because he is a fighter. And though he does tend to get into more than his fair share of brawls his being a fighter is more of a mental thing than a physical thing. He sometimes doesn't think he deserves to be a happy healthy person, but he still fights for it. No matter what happens of the things he sometimes feels Cody desperately wants to be the sort of person who can be happy and trusting and he is willing to struggle for it no matter how often he is set back. This is an attitude he tends to apply to anything if he wants it he'll fight for it. Of course with most other things the fight is a lot easier.
OBSERVANT Cody has learned the hard way that being aware of the little things can save you a lot of trouble. Noticing little things like a person's body language or if things have moved about in a room. Like lets say the heavy pot that is usually on the mantel has moved Cody would notice and be weary of where it might be and why it was moved. Noticing the little details can help so he's very careful to pay attention. This makes him hard to lie to. It's not impossible, but he'll often pick up a hint that your fibbing. Like if you told him you were studying, but he notices your shirt is buttoned wrong and your wearing sneakers with no socks he'll have a hint that maybe just maybe you aren't being honest.
HONEST Cody is a lot of things, but a liar isn't one of them. He's a very honest boy. This might be because he doesn't see the point in lying and honestly afraid someone will hurt him if he lies, but he doesn't lie. If he tells you something you can take him at face value. This makes him easier to deal with as you never have to figure out what he's really trying to say. He may not tell you all his dark secrets, but he tends to wear his heart on his sleeve. What he's feeling, what he's thinking, what he wants are all things one will never have to try very hard to find out from Cody as he'll make it abundantly clear.
weaknesses ;
TEMPER Whenever Cody isn't feeling vulnerable he is feeling defensive. He's more of a hurt you before you hurt me sort of person. This combined with his own mental turmoil and the fact that he's naturally inclined to fight leaves Cody with quite the temper. Sometimes even the littlest of things sets him off. A strange look, a well meaning comment, even sometimes the slightest noises. It all depends on his mood. Sometimes he's better than others, but he's always got a fuse. The line between happy and mad is very thin and unless scared he tends to be one or the other. Mad is the most common. This is a weakness for many reasons. One and probably the most important is that his temper makes him very hard to get a long with. Only those who like to fight and the most patient and understanding people can deal with Cody when he's angry. It's also a weakness, because when he's angry it's hard to think all he can think about is lashing out at whatever is making him unhappy
GUILT Without a doubt one of Cody's biggest weaknesses is his own internal struggle to come to terms with what has happened to him and if it was or was not his fault. Some days he tries to understand that he was just a child and couldn't possibly be to blame for what Torrin did to him, but more often than not this is not something he can easily believe. There's a horrible part of him that is certain that he not only caused it but deserved it. He doesn't really want to believe it, but he can't help but think there has to be a reason everyone either abandons him or hurts him. On his worst days he is sure he deserved everything that's happened and that if he had been a better child his father would have never left and his mother would have never died. This is of course not true, but it's not something Cody can easily accept.
TRUST ISSUES The important people in Cody's life haven't exactly treated him all that well and this has led to some serious trust issues. For the most part he pretty distrusts everyone. He's know painfully well how evil even the nicest of persons can be and how easily even the kindest of intentions can become a twisted dark thing. He knows that anyone will do bad things for the right motivations whether it be anger, greed, or a million other reasons people are a lot more evil than anyone wants to acknowledge. Anyone even children are capable of the most mind boggling evils. Even the people he sort of trusts he still expects the worst from and really is just waiting to see it. He's always prepared to be betrayed or to cope with how someone else hurts him, because he expects it and knows it's coming eventually.
boggart ; Cody has always and will probably always be terrified of his former Adoptive father Torrin.
amortentia ; Sweat, Blood, and Bacon
erised ; Cody desperately desires to just disappear he wants to leave the world he lives in now and start all over again so that he can start a life where no one knows his past and he can remake himself.
veritaserum ; That he secretly believes he deserves all of things his adoptive father did to him. That none of the things that happened would have if he had been better behaved or stronger.
dementor ; There is a large portion of Cody's life that could be categorized as a bad memory. Pretty much all of his younger years. But he supposes the one that takes the cake would be the day he came home to discover his mother dead in her bathtub. Honestly he didn't really care too much about his mother's suicide, but the fact that this was the gateway to all the horrors that would follow
patronus ; Cody knows it's wrong, but his best memory is the day he accidentally and unknowingly used magic to stab his guardian. The day ended in confusion and a bloody messy him being dragged out of the only home he'd known for years in handcuffs, but it was undoubtedly the best feeling he's ever felt. It also would mark the day where he could start picking up the pieces of himself that the adults had left. He will probably never make a patronus, but if he could it was take the form of a porcupine.
personality ; Cody is a complicated boy. Of course most teens are quite complicated indeed, but Cody can at times takes complicated to extremes. He is primarily a study of extremes. This is most noticeable in his usual day to day attitude. He has a personality that his guardian Lawrence labeled as a lion and lamb complex. Basically it means that Cody tends to swing from one extreme to another fluctuating between being a roaring clawing lion and a submissive silent little lamb with almost no middle ground. There are a million tiny little deciding factors that weigh in on Cody's disposition, but they all lead up to one of two behaviors. He's always a defensive boy and he has only two ways of responding. He'll either do his best to rip your head off or he'll fall all over himself to make you want to not hurt him.
His lion side is the one he tends to display the most. This behavior is a sort of posturing. An I'll intimidate you before you can even think of hurting me sort of approach. This mean he tends to take even the slightest of slights and responds to it as aggressively as he would a serious threat. Which means he's just as likely to start swinging over a weird look as a threat to kick his ass? When he's like this he's pretty difficult to deal with as even the littlest things will make him react. The few friends he does have know to ignore most of his barbed comments and to ignore him when he does try to last out. Cody won't fight someone who wont fight him so this tactic usually works.
Then on the other side of the coin is the lamb. Ironically enough this is the side that he reverts to when he's well and truly scared. When he is faced by something or someone he doesn't think he can beat he lays down like a rug. When he is actually intimidated or scared he tends to treat the person Very differentially. He won't look them in the eye and he'll pretty much do whatever they say and look happy while doing it in hopes of keeping them from wanting to hurt him. He also becomes very affectionate. The more he's scared of someone the more likely he is to touch and be close to as it's his way of trying to distract them. After all no one can hurt him when they are to busy being pleasured right? If he can turn a scary situation into sex he will. he knows from experience that it doesn't always keep the person from hurting you, but it does tend to limit the damage. After all who wants to break a good toy you can keep to play with. he doesn't like being like this, but when push comes to shove he just can't help it.
Cody is also fiercely independent. He will almost never ask for help. He learned a long time ago that people will always let you down and if you need something done the only person you can really trust to do it is yourself. He's also so independent, because the more you depend on someone else the more hold they have over you. And he knows people can use that hold to hurt you or to make you do things you don't want to. So he prefers to stand on his own two feet. This is of course not entirely possible since he's only sixteen and can't strike out on his own. He is however as independent as he can be. When he's not at Hogwarts he works part time at any place that'll have him to make money to live off of. His Guardian of course gives him money, but one he doesn't have much to give and two Cody wants to buy his own stuff so he doesn’t owe anyone anything. He also likes to work so he can save up to move out the moment he turns legal.
Surprisingly enough Cody can be a fairly compassionate person. He doesn't often act it, but Cody knows how bad life can be and even though he's experienced some of the worst he knows that other people's sitatuations even if not as bad as he might have been is still hard for him. He will never let his guard down too much, but when he sees a person in a bad place he'll help them mostly because he wished someone would have helped him many years ago. Of course sometimes his help isn't all that obvious. Sometimes he'll offer a distraction, sometimes he'll just give a hint to someone else that their friend needs help, and every once in a while he'll try to help solve the problem directly. Though that last one is more rare.
the school life
year ; Sixth year
pet ; Cody had a toad, but threw it in the great lake the second time he had to look for it because it kept running away.
favourite subject ; Cody is by no means a boy who could be considered studious. Really he doesn't like a lot of his classes and other than the food he'd probably not want to be at Hogwarts so saying favorite is stretching the truth a bit, but the class he's almost likes is Divination. This is a class he doesn't mind so much and does really well in. He doesn't have a lick of real talent when it comes to Divination, but he studies well enough and he's pretty good at interpreting the signs. He is particularly good at seeing 'signs' of the future with tea leaves as he sees a lot of shapes most people would miss.
worst subject ; There are a lot of classes Cody isn't too fond of. But without a doubt his worst subject is Care of Magical creatures. He took it because he didn't want to deal with the math of Arithmancy or the goobley-gook that is ancient runes, but he wished he had made another choice. The whole class was a nightmare. Between boring studying sessions and dealing with animals that always bit him Cody didn't enjoy the class. The fact that Cody has never been good or comfortable with animals is a deciding factor, but he was very very happy when he finally got to drop the class.
best spell ; Cody is extremely good at the knockback spell. He's so good at it he can even do it non-verbally. He took to this one exceptionally easy mostly because he really likes being able to keep people from putting their hands on him
worst spell ; The patronus spell is without a doubt his worse spell. He can't even produce a silver mist. He has absolutely no hope of ever actually managing and only tries for class.

Lyra Hurrington, 14, Half-blood (foster sibling)
Vlaq Constatine, 16, TBA (foster sibling)
residence ; Cody lives in a foster home run by Lawerence Lightly. He and his fellows fosters live in a modest home in Richmond on Thames.
history ; Like a large part of his life Cody's birth wouldn't be easy. His mother Cassandra would go into labor a full 20 hours before he would be born. His birth was very complicated and his mother came very close to dying from the boy's birth. But fortunately when Cody was born he was a healthy perfectly normal baby and his mother recovered completely from the rough delivery. For the first two years of his life Cody would have a simple, but good life. His parents weren't rich, but they did okay and they lived a pretty ordinary life. That would change less than a year later when Cody's father left his wife for another woman just before Cody's third birthday. Life would then change drastically fairly quickly even if Cody wasn't aware of it.
Being a single woman taking care of a child is never easy. Cody's mother would try, but one minimum wage job doesn't go very far. They wound up having to move from their nice middle class home to a much cheaper area. His mother also had to take up another job which left Cody in the care of numerous babysitters while his mother was at work. This would become the norm as his mother had to work very hard just to keep them housed and fed. He would be used to this enough that as he grew older he'd never really question why his mother was never around. Nor would he notice as his mother became slowly more and more depressed just as we wouldn't know that she had started drinking heavily.
His life would go on in the simple pattern until he was six years old. And then again everything would change for the worse. It would start out as a perfectly ordinary day, Cody would come home from school as usual he'd go to stay at his babysitters. A nice little old lady who always watched him for his mother. For hours they would stay at her house neither of them would know anything it was amiss until his mother was an hour late to pick him up. His mother never had much time for Cody, but she was always on time to pick him up to feed him dinner. So his babysitter would call her work to get a hold of her only to be told that she had called out. Then figuring the woman was sick the kind old lady took Cody home to check on his mother.
As the babysitter went to check Cassandra's room Cody would go to the bathroom as he always did when he got home to wash his hands before dinner. It would be Cody would find his mother apparently sleeping in a tub of red water. Cody wouldn't understand what had happened for a very long time, but when the old woman heard Cody tell her about finding his mother sleeping in the tub she quickly put him in his room and checked on her. Not too much later Cody's house was swarming with police. He wouldn't truly understand what happened for years, but he'd be very confused as a nice woman in a suit would explain that he had to come with her and would take him to a place with a lot of children. He wouldn't understand stand, but he was taken to an emergency child shelter where he would be held until an orphanage, foster home, or some family member was contacted to watch him.
This would be a very difficult time for him as he wouldn't understand why no one would let him go home and why his mother never came to pick him up. She was a busy woman, but she had never not picked him up before. This would make him a difficult boy as he screamed and fought a lot because he basically felt like he was being kidnapped. He wouldn't stop until someone finally explained that his mother was gone and she wasn't coming back. He still wouldn't understand really, but he thought she had left just like his father had. So he became a very quiet sad little boy who almost never spoke. He'd be in an orphanage for only two months when a man would walk in and once again change Cody's life for the worst. Torrin Horshont would at the time be a very kind man. The orphanage liked the man a lot as he was always donating money and would visit often to bring toys and such to the children.
Of course Torrin was just putting up a front making himself look like the good guy he wanted everyone to see. Usually he'd drop by the orphanage pat a few heads, drop off some gifts and leave. However the first Cody saw Torrin that would change. Cody had been sitting in the corner of the room as had become habit since had had been brought to the orphanage. Torrin would spot him and do something unusual he actually started talking with Cody. Of course when Torrin usually visited he'd talk and be nice, but he never really showed any interest in any of the children. The woman who supervised the orphanage was thrilled when Torrin took an almost instant interest in the sad little boy. She knew from long experience that Cody would be a very hard placement. He was an adorable little boy, but no one wanted to adopt someone with a whole slew of issues especially not one prone to fighting.
So she encouraged Cody to be nice to Torrin. The next day after the first initial meeting Torrin would arrive again this time coming with a very large stuffed giraffe he had purchased just for Cody. Cody wasn't impressed and still refused to talk or even really look at the new man. He didn't know this then, but it would be that quite defiance that would seal the deal. Torrin wasn't a good man, but he wasn't a man who liked door mats. What he wanted he could only get from someone that would fight. After than Torrin would visit every single day to talk at Cody who remained as silent as usual. He wouldn't say a single word to anyone until the day Torrin finalized the process and took him home. Then and only then did he ask to stay so his mother would know where to find him if she changed her mind about leaving him.
However despite his wanting to stay he would be taken away to Torrin's home. Cody was not a happy boy and that's something that wouldn't change any time soon. At first Cody was okay. Torrin was the picture of niceness well at least for the first few months until after the social workers stopped their visits assured that Cody was being well taken care of. Then things would begin to change at first it would start with Torrin yelling a lot, then it would be hitting, and then well it went to things no child should ever have to face. Cody knew from the moment Torrin started hurting him that he shouldn't be able to, but Torrin made it clear that he'd kill him of Cody ever talked about any of it. This would go on for quite a while. Honestly Cody was sure it would last forever however it would abruptly end on night.
It had not been a good day as Torrin had woken up in a fowl mood. The whole day had been hard as Cody scurried around trying to keep Torrin as happy as possible. He had been in the kitchen trying to make tea for Torrin, but he had evidently taken too long as Torrin came in screaming about being kept waiting. Before Cody could blink Torrin had him pinned against the stove threatening the push Cody's face into the hot burners when just as suddenly their were knives buried in the man's chest. It would be months before Cody would understand that this would be his first sign of magic. Of course he didn't have much time to worry about the sudden knives as somehow the police were called and they were accusing him of attacking his guardian.
He would be taken to a Juvenile Detention Center where no one would believe him. No matter how many times he told the people that the knives just were there that he hadn't stabbed Torrin no one would believe him. The boy would be incarcerated for ten days, before someone a bit different from everyone else came to interview him. He even looked different since he was wearing flip flops with a suit that didn't quite match the hat he was wearing. He would be the first one to listen to Cody without a disbelieving look on his face. He would actually ask a lot of questions about the knives and how they had gotten there and how he had felt right before it happened. Then the most amazing thing happened the man actually believed him and took him away from the Detention center. It would be over an ice-cream sundae in a weird little pub that the man would explain to Cody what had happened and what he was.
It would take a long time for Cody to actually accept the fact that he was a Wizard, but this would eventually be one of the best moments of his life. The man who came to pick him up and explained about magic would then take Cody into his home. Cody would eventually get to know the man as Lawerence. Lawerence was of course vastly different than Torrin as he was a kind man who took in troubled wizard youths hoping to give them a fresh start. Cody's life with Lawerence wouldn't be perfect after all the damage was already done and the boy had a lot of coping to do, but he was at least in a safe place. He did get in quite a few fights with his foster siblings and he would run away a handful of times, but Lawerence would always find him.
The worst moment at the Lawerence's would be one day after a counseling session that hadn't gone very well. Cody would come home upset. Looking in the mirror then reminded him how much Torrin had marked him. Of course the one that hurt the most was the man's name that was inked in bright red letters on the boy's left side. Looking at it at the time it seemed the name was taunting him assuring him he'd never really be free of Torrin. Still upset and angry at himself and his very skin that betrayed him Cody would shatter the bathroom mirror with his fists and use the broken glass to cut off the tattoo. By time Lawerence managed to get into the bathroom the damage was already done and Cody was taken to St. Mungo's where he was admitted for about two weeks. After his two weeks he would be released back to Lawerence and he'd be returned home.
A few months later he would receive his Hogwarts letter. This of course worried Lawerence as he wasn't sure how Cody would take to being in yet another strange place. Cody wouldn't exactly be excited, but he'd cope surprisingly well. He would have a hard time making friends, but he'd show at least a little enthusiasm for the new magical world. Of course being a good student wasn't something he was very interesting in, but slowly he'd adjust and make some friends. He would of course manage to get into a lot of trouble. Especially with his new born tendency to get into a fight every time someone even looked at him funny. He would spend more time in detention at times than not. His time at Hogwarts would fly by fairly quickly and he would suddenly be finished his fifth year and he would sit his Owls. He surprisingly did better than he had thought. Lawerence even bought him a new pair of sneakers for managing to pass so many classes. He's not really looking forward to his NEWT years, but he suppose life could be worst than it is at Hogwarts so he hasn't left. Well at least not yet.
