blood status; Pure
sexual orientation ; Straight

affiliation ; Voltaine is a death eater supporter though he's unlikely to ever become a Death Eater.
the appearance
height & weight ; Voltaine is petite boy much like the rest of his family he's just not very big. Even standing a straight and as tall as he possibly can he's only 5'4 which for a boy is very small and it's doubtful that he will get much bigger. His frame like his stature is rather petite and almost feminine. He's rather lean and softly muscled. He's a lot more fit than most people think and yes he does have a six pack, but it's not from any effort of his own. He supposes he just has a good metabolism like the rest of his family
hair ; Voltaine’s philosophy with his hair is Kiss. Keep it simple stupid. He doesn't like messing around with his hair. Like the rest of his family he has silky black hair he keeps it fairly long but not stupidly so. Of course if he had much choice he’d probably just buzz all his hair off, but he mother insists he keep it longer as the length compliments his features. He obviously doesn't care very much for his hair as usually all he does is wash and let it fall where it will.
eyes ; Like his sisters the most arresting feature on his face are his eyes. His eyes are a very bright blue color that always seem to catch the light. His eyes are framed by a rather generous helping of eyelashes that Voltaine has never really liked as he thinks they make him look girly. Fortunately this is balanced out by his almost brutally shaped eyebrows.
facial features ; Voltaine again like his sisters has a very delicate face. His bone structure is obvious, but in a gentle way. He has a small cute nose that meshes well with a very sensual almost feminine mouth. He again dislikes the softness of his face and often tries to hide it with facial hair, but as of yet he's not been very good at growing it at most he manages to grow a patchy fuzz that he mother will shave off every time she sees it.
distinguishing features ; Voltaine pretty much wishes he has some sort of distinguishing mark. He does have a small mole on his left shoulder, but other than that his milky skin is blemish free. He has no scars thanks to the fact that his mother has pretty much healed any injury he's ever incurred and that she will attack him with healing creams and so such should he come back from Hogwarts with a scar. His mother believes that looks are very important so guards her son's appearance rather ruthlessly.
style ; Voltaine is as he often complains about just an over grown doll for his mother. Most of his wardrobe is chosen by her and any items he manages to pick up over the year at school usually mysteriously vanish when ever his mother gets close to his trunk. Most of the clothes picked for him are fortunately enough not robes, but rather muggle retro as his mother says the older styles suit him very well. His look is fairly flexible as his mother goes with the fashion world, but the dependables are a sports jacket and a tie. Voltaine is so used to wearing a tie that he puts one on every morning without even really realizing it. Even his scrubbier clothes tend to look semi formal thanks to his habitual addition of a tie.

the personality
likes ;
WIZARD CHESS There are many things his mother won't let him do because she insists they aren't things proper young wizards do. However one of the few activities they can agree on is Wizard's Chess. His mother approves because it is behind it's barbaric actions an intellectual game that teaches strategy and management. Voltaine likes it because he enjoys watching the pieces beat the crap out of each other at his direction. He'd never admit it out loud, but in such games it's one of the few times he really feels in charge and he really likes that feeling.
ALLYSON CARMONA His sister is bat shit crazy. There is no doubt about that, but unlike Valentina he still adores Ally. While Lady abandoned them over some silly squabble Ally injured herself in an attempt to find Lady. So Voltaine blames Lady for the fact that Ally acts the way she does. He views Ally as another victim of Lady's betrayal. He is exceptionally patient with her and visits as often as his mother will allow. He always brings her little gifts and trinkets hoping to put her in a better state of mind. He is also one of the few people who doesn't treat her like she's crazy, because to Voltaine crazy or not she's just his sister no more no less.
SPAIN There is no denying the fact that Voltaine loves Spain. Every year he spends his Christmas Holidays with his father and he loves it. His fondness has nothing to do with the amazing culture or the beautiful landscape that makes up Spain, but rather the fact that his father expects nothing out of him. His father is perfectly content to let Voltaine just be a teenage boy. He doesn't care what Voltaine gets up to. Doesn't care if he doesn't wear all the best clothes or gets dirty or starts a scuffle with some neighbor boy. There is a freedom in Spain that he doesn't get anywhere else.
QUIDDITCH Voltaine has always loved Quidditch. He's never really been allowed to play it because Quidditch is dangerous and not an activity for a proper young man, but the sport has always fascinated him. He loves watching and will go to any game he gets a chance to attend. He did briefly try to learn how to play when he was younger, but when his mother caught him at it. She took his broom beat him with it, then broke it into pieces and then made him feed the entire broom into the fireplace. Even this didn't curb his enthusiasm for Quidditch though he would never dare to play again.
VIOLENCE Voltaine rarely feels that his has much control in anything really. Even at Hogwarts his mother has a stranglehold on his life. This is something he doesn't fight, because he learned long ago getting out from under his mother's thumb just isn't going to happen. But he however embraces pretty much any feeling that makes him feel even for a moment to be in control of something. This is why he likes violence. The simple violence in Quidditch, the violence in a game of wizard's chess, or even physical violence. This doesn't mean Voltaine goes around torturing people, but he does like hurting people in little sneaky ways like pinching people when they aren't looking or shoving someone making them fall down.
dislikes ;
CARMONA WOMEN With the exception of his sister Ally Voltaine just isn't very fond of the women in his family. His mother is a bossy controlling shrew who he is more than a little bit afraid of, his grandmother is just as bad if not worse, and his sister Valentina is not only a blood traitor, but a coward and a promise breaker. The women of his family have pretty much convinced him that all women do is nag you, hurt you, and let you down. The fact that he's never been all that good at dealing with women doesn't help of course. He will never directly disrespect the women in his family with the exception of Valentina, because he's rather intimidated by them, but he will never be a big fan of Carmona women.
DANCING Voltaine's mother has always believed that a proper wizard must know how to dance. She also believes that it makes one more elegant, more coordinated, and disciplined. Voltaine thinks it makes you a big sissy. Of course his opinion doesn't really matter when his mother decides something, but that doesn't mean he has to like it. Yes he takes the lessons and while he won't admit it he is a little too scared of his mother to do anything other than try his best he still hates it. Not only is it yet another example of how much of a stranglehold his mother has on his life. It's also one thing that's gotten him a lot of derision. Sure girls are impressed when one can dance properly, but boys will razz you endlessly especially when they see you attending lessons with your mother in tow so that she can be assured that you are doing your best.
BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO Through years of training at the end of his mother's sharp tongue and none to gentle hand Voltaine has learned how to follow commands very quickly and obediently. When told to jump he'll ask how high, but that doesn't mean he likes it. He can't really think of doing anything other than doing as told, but it chafes at him. He hates following orders and demands. He wants to do what he wants without worrying about anyone else he can't do that, but that doesn't stop him from wanting that freedom and resent the orders that steals said freedom from him.
UPPITY FILTH Voltaine isn't as anti muggle/ halfbloods as some. He feels no need to exterminate the whole lot or even turn them into little more than house elves. He can even be semi civil towards the non pureblooded, but there is nothing worse than filth that doesn't know their place. There is indeed a place for the half- bloods, the muggle born, and even the muggles and while he may not know exactly where that place should be it's certainly not on level with him. And since they weren't born with the privilege of the worthy they shouldn't try to act like the worthy. While most of the time he's fairly passive watching filth be uppity with the pureblooded is always a way to get him involved. Sometimes the unworthy just have to be reminded of their place.
DIETS Voltaine has never really been a huge eater. His appetite has always been rather on the moderate side and not prone to over eating at all. However this isn't enough to keep his mother worrying about him putting on too much weight and becoming unseemly. So occasionally she will put him on a diet despite his rather heated protests. He doesn't like being told no especially when it comes to the dinner table. If he wants a slice of pie he wants a slice of pie. If he wants extra gravy he doesn't want to hear that it's not good for him. He never likes being denied, but what really bothers him about diets is the fact that his mother puts him on these ridiculous diets just because she thinks he might way a pound or two more than she thinks best.
strengths ;
DANCING Voltaine hates dancing. He will not dance unless his mother demands it or some very pretty girl pretty much drags him onto the dance floor. He believes knowing how to dance makes one a very feminine male. But thanks to his mother he's been taking dance lessons since he was a little boy. He is both proficient with ballet and most forms of ballroom dancing. He has more training with the ballroom genre and his mother proudly boasts that Voltaine if he wished could be a professional which is probably true if not likely to happen. His ability with dance not only charms the ladies, but it makes him very balanced and light on his feet. It also helps a lot with his reflexes and speed. Voltaine will never be a big boy but he has better reflexes and is much faster than your average boy his age.
WELL TRAINED Voltaine has pretty much always resented the way his mother often treats him like a trained poodle. However no matter how much he might resent it this treatment is in it's own way helpful. He believes the things his mother insists he learns are little more than tricks that she can show off to her friends, but in reality they are simply behaviors that help him pass as a gentleman. His 'tricks' as he calls them make him seem maybe slightly old fashioned, but in a charming sort of way. Opening doors and always standing when a lady enters the room and so such are so much a habit with him that he does them even though he thinks it's silly. So while he isn't too proud of these behaviors it makes him out to be rather gallant when he's not ruining it by being a brat.
WORK IT Like most of the things his mother has taught him Voltaine doesn't really like using the things she has drilled into him, but many of the inevitably work in his favor. Preserving and using his looks is one of those traits. Voltaine is very aware of his appearance no matter how much he might like to not be. He knows exactly which clothes give off the impression he wants. He knows exactly what expression to give to give people what they wanted. He knows exactly what posture looks best on his. He knows what light he looks best in. He doesn't use these tricks very often, but when he wants to he's very good at being very attractive. Of course this only helps when he actually bothers to try.
weaknesses ;
SPOILED Voltaine has always been his parent's little prince. While he was never meant to inherit the Carmona estate, because the Carmona estate could only be inherited by a woman he was still their only boy and the baby. When his sisters both self destructed and there by made themselves ineligible to inherit their birthright Voltaine became not only the spoiled prince, but the Carmona's last chance. His marriage is the only way to pass on the Carmona inheritance to a woman with the Carmona name. So now his parents are even more generous. All this is why he pretty much gets any material thing he wants. He's never wanted for anything as he has had a staff who's job was pretty much to keep him happy. If he wants something not only does he get it he gets it fast and wrapped in a pretty little bow and this makes him rather unappreciative of all the things he has.
IMPATIENT Voltaine has since birth wanted very little and while his mother demands much and controls much of his life Voltaine has in exchange been given just about everything he wants. This has taught him to be impatient. He is Voltaine Carmona he doesn't have to wait; waiting is for the common folk. His family has always treated him like a little prince and he behaves accordingly. He hates waiting for anything even a few moments will have him snapping and acting ungrateful. If he's kept long enough it's not rare to see him either lose interest of throw a temper tantrum. This of course doesn't make him very popular with his peers at times.
SUBMISSIVE Voltaine has grown up in a family where the women were always in charge and men for the most part are considered to be little more than accessories and part of the baby making process. This has over the years through lots of training by his mother made him rather submissive. He simply isn't good at confrontation and will almost always after a trinket of a fight given in. He will resent it and probably hate it, but he'll usually give in. He's simply so used to listening that the idea of really not obeying doesn't really register in his mind. If it weren't for his mother this problem probably wouldn't exist, but two of his sister have already let his mother down and he doesn't want to do the same even if that does mean dealing with her stranglehold on his life.
boggart ; That he's going to be his mother's puppet forever and never really be happy. This shows through a form of him chained to his mother.
amortentia ; Copper, lilies, and hot chocolate.
erised ; He mostly wants to be in control of his own life. He doesn't really believe this will ever happen, but it's still his fondest wish.
veritaserum ; That he really doesn't want to be what his mother has decided he will be, but doesn't really feel as if he has much choice.
dementor ; Voltaine's worst memory is of course the day his sister lost her mind. This is his worst memory for many reasons. One because it meant he had lost both siblings he had once loved. And maybe even more importantly because this event would change his entire life, because after Valentina left the family and with Siren's mind gone that would leave Voltaine as the only suitable heir to the Carmona legacy which had been a fate he had been safely exempt from until the sudden loss of his sisters.
patronus ; Voltaine will probably never be very good at the patronus charm a fine silver mist is probably the best he'll ever manage. However if he did ever manage to make a corporeal patronus it would take on the form of a poodle. His best memory would be of the first winter he spent outside his mother's influence. Holidaying with his father was his first taste of freedom and he still loves it every time he goes.
personality ;
The first and probably the most obvious thing about Voltaine is that he's more than a bit of a mommy's boy. There's pretty much not a part of his life that isn't effected by his mother. She is always a thought in his mind and he is very reluctant to do anything he knows she'll disapprove of. He's not exactly a huge fan of his mother and he definitely won't be president of her fan club, but she's a huge part of his life. She picks what he wears, has a huge say in his hobbies and activities, if he has a friend she disapproves of the friendship usually won't last. He may not enjoy his relationship with his mother, but there is no denying her influence on him.
He is in his own way pretty much his mother's perfect child. He's the only one who hasn't either gone insane or betrayed them completely. He's also the only one who can't really stand up to her very well. When his mother decides something he might argue maybe even throw a fit, but eventually he'll cave and do whatever it is she wants. He has long ago grown used to the idea that his mother is in charge of his life and despite his best attempts she probably always will be, but that doesn't mean he likes it. While he would never dare say it out loud to his mother, but he resents how she decides everything in his life. He hates when she picks out his clothes, hates that she picks his friends, and his hobbies and even though he'll occasionally try to stand up to her they both know he'll eventually give in to her wishes.
He knows that his mother has from birth been training him to be a good pureblood husband. She heartily believes a man must act a very specific way to be a husband and that her son would be useless without that training. Now that both his sisters have made themselves ineligible to become the head of the Carmona household it has become doubly important to his mother that he be the perfect pureblood husband so that he will be able to find a wife strong enough to inherit and run the Carmona Empire. Voltaine pretty much despises this idea he doesn't want to be a trophy husband to some woman who will probably just marry him for the estate, but at the same time he can't really contemplate walking away. He hates what he pretty much sees as his destiny, but walking away would be unforgivable. He's the last hope for his heritage to be carried out the way it was meant to be. He may not necessarily like the matriarchal heritage he was born into, but he doesn't really think he has the right to destroy it either.
Outside of his mother's influence Voltaine is still a bit of a wuss. While he's not entirely a wimp he does have a number of feminine traits that probably results from being raised without much of a male influence. He is a very touchy boy who thinks very little about physical contact. It's very rare that he'll speak to you without touching you one way or another. Of course it's nothing too personal, but something like a pat on the shoulder or the arm. He is also rather affectionate with just about any girl that doesn't intimidate or disgust him. He's always hugging or kissing girls on the cheek. His personal bubble is also much smaller than the average boys. He is also one who's not much for horseplay. He can at times be playful, but he's not exactly a tough guy who can take pain easily.
Voltaine is also rather more in touch with his emotions than the average boy. While he won't coo over every kitten he sees or cry at every sad story he sees he is a lot more emotionally honest than most boys his age. If he feels a certain way you are likely to know it. If he's sad he won't really hesitate to cry, if he's happy you'll know that as well. He just doesn't bother trying to be very stoic. However despite his emotional honesty he can be just a little awkward with people. There aren't many boys he can relate with very well so he always has a hard time dealing with them. As for girls he generally does very well unless they are bossy girls. Well bossy pureblood girls. He can easily ignore the unworthy as they are in reality not all that very important, but pureblood girls that act like his mother are an entirely different story all together. He almost instinctively listens when the right sort of woman demands something of him and just like with his mother he's just not very good at saying no. He may not be quite as submissive with them as he is his mother, but it's only a matter of degree.
He is also a very entitled boy. He has been since birth raised to believe that he is better than most people because his blood line is one of the purest and his family has always been successful. He has also been treated like a little prince from the time he was born. He believes that the world owes him just for being alive. He doesn't really think he should have to exert himself for much of anything. The only thing he ever works for are the things which his mother demands he do. This can make him exceptionally hard to work with because more often than not he will expect someone else to do all the work. The only exception to this is of course if he's working with a woman like his mother and then he will often wind up doing everything himself.
Voltaine is unsurprisingly not the bravest boy in the world. He won't always run, but he'll rarely face odds that aren't in his favor. He will often give into bullies and does try to surround himself with people who are likely to protect him. The only time he ever really shows much of a spine is when it comes to his sister Ally. He loves her despite her problems and is extremely defensive about her. Call her crazy and he'll be all over you hurt her and he'll try his best to end you.
Unsurprisingly Voltaine isn't the most popular boy in the world. He gets along better with girls than boys, but usually only pureblood girls, because he can be a bitty snotty to the nots. Most boys he doesn't get along well with at all most either pick on him or avoid him. Though there is the occasionally slightly scary ones that hit on him that makes Voltaine very uncomfortable. The only people he gets along with fairly well are Professors and while he's not really friends with any of them he doesn't cause any trouble and he tends to excel in his classes so most professors at least approve of his behavior if not like him.
the school life
year ; Fifth year
pet ; A horned owl named Mortimer
favourite subject ; Herbology is Voltaine's favorite subject. Mostly because he so rarely gets a chance to get dirty without feeling guilty about it. He is always fairly good at the subject which of course helps.
worst subject ; There are a number of subjects that Voltaine doesn't really like, but at the very top of his list is Potions. He really has no reason to dislike it other than the fact that his mother insists that he excel at Potions as that's what her proper little boy would do. He mostly resents the subject, but does indeed excel at it due to his mother's insistence. The subject he actually finds the most difficult is Divination mostly because he really isn't all that good at making stuff up.
best spell ; Episky is Voltaine's best spell and while it's perhaps just a little above what the average student his age can do he's learned it at the behest of his mother who has drilled the charm into him so that he can heal his little cuts and scrapes so that he doesn't get any unsightly scars.
worst spell ; Voltaine has just never been very good at the cheering charm. If he manages it at all usually he can only bring only do so for a very short period of time.

mother ; Vivian Vanlace Carmona, 50, Pure
father ; Armando Carmona, 54, Pure
siblings ; Valentina Carmona, 24, Pure
Allyson Carmona, 19, Pure
other significant magical relatives ; Ladalina Carmona 82, Pure {grandmother}
Faust Carmona, 21 (cousin)
residence ; Voltaine lives in several places. During school he of course lives at Hogwarts. Over the various holidays he lives between his Mother's, and Father's house. During the winter holidays he lives in his father's estate in Spain. During the Summer Holidays he lives part of his with his mother in her NAME FANCY PLACE estates.
history ; The last of the Carmona family would be brought into the world on a cold November evening. As Voltaine would get used to he was brought into the world on his mother's whim two weeks before he was supposed to be born, because she wished to be in decent shape so that she would be able to attend the Richardson Gala. Voltaine would be welcomed into the family with a great amount of fanfare, but it was still at his mother's discretion. He would be immediately spoiled and this was something that wouldn't change during his life time. He was not only the baby, but the only boy in the family. He would be doted upon by most of his family and the entire staff his mother hired to take care of him. He would have two nannies and a gentleman's man to make certain he was always watched over and cared for.
This treatment would continue for most of his childhood. Voltaine would grow up to be a young spoiled toddler who though prone to temper tantrums when denied something he asked for a generally well behaved boy. Of course there really wasn't much trouble he could get into with two to three people almost constantly watching him. It wouldn't be until he was about six before he would realize that his life wasn't quite the same as most peoples. When he realized this would be the first time that Voltaine would try to rebel of course his efforts wouldn't work very well. Whenever he would do something to stand up to his mother his mother would calmly and almost professionally stomp his attempts into the ground.
He would have only two major rebellions. The first would be at the age of six. He had prepared earlier in the morning for an afternoon tea party and would be waiting in his best clothes freshly scrubbed and perfectly groomed. Voltaine however didn't really want to go to the girly tea party where all the overly dressed ladies would pinch his cheeks and tell him how utterly adorable he was. So Voltaine took it upon himself to make sure he wouldn't have to go. He managed to slip out from the watchful eye of both of his nannies and would skip outside to play in the mud. When his mother arrived to take him to the tea party she would find him covered head to toe in filth. Voltaine would get what he wanted and would wind up never attending the tea party. But it wasn't much of a victory as he mother would strip him down to his undergarments in the yard and scrub him down in a large metal tub that was usually used to wash the dog. She would wash him head to toe until his entire body was red and raw feeling. The boy would never again purposely get dirty.
His second and most serious attempt at rebellion would be when he was eight years old and ran away because his mother had cancelled his usual winter vacation with his father in Spain. The boy would return less than twenty hours later after he had quickly learned that he was not able to cope with living in the big bad world. Having failed to get to Spain on his own he would return home. Upon arriving on the door step Voltaine would be promptly dragged up to his room and locked in. His mother would keep him in their like a prisoner for over a week giving him nothing but water the entire time. He was even made to use a bucket rather than being allowed to walk to the bathroom. When the week was over it would be a very subdued Voltaine that would emerge from his room. It was after this lesson that Voltaine would understand fighting his mother was just a battle he would never win.
After his second real attempt to assert his independence he would fall in line with all of his mothers demands and wishes with very little more than a mumble of unhappy words. He stopped protesting most of her little demands all together he took the lessons and the classes she demanded and learned it was just so much easier if he did what she wanted. It hurt to disappoint her so he would do his best not to. The rest of his early childhood would go by fairly smoothly as his mother shaped him to be the perfect little boy that she wanted. She would have lots of time to do this as both her daughters would be attending Hogwarts by this point.
When he turned eleven he would unsurprisingly get his letter to Hogwarts. This was of course expected, but Voltaine was seriously excited about the prospect of being out from his mother's very observant eyes. His introduction into Hogwarts wasn't nearly as smooth as he had hoped. He had had visions of having tons of friends and being very popular, but that didn't happen as he had a very hard time dealing with his peers. He would only make a few friends, but would pass his time fairly calmly. He would very rarely get into any trouble other than a few scuffles with his peers especially the ones who protested his attitude toward them. Voltaine's time would go smoothly until his third year and everything went bottoms up.
It was of course all Valentina's fault. It started when his stupid oldest sister pushed some ugly girl down the stairs. Which really Voltaine didn't blame her for as he knew the girl was after Valentina's boyfriend. One had to protect what was theirs right? However the problems really started when their parents made the problem go away. Valentina was getting off scot free, but was that good enough for her no? She had to go and ruin it by running away. This would result in her being disowned from the family. Of course Voltaine wouldn't really care about this as he never really like Valentina anyways, but what bothered him was how it affected Ally. Ally had always been much fonder of Valentina than Voltaine and had been very distraught when she left so she did her best to make a tracking potion. Of course Ally had never been all that good at potions so she of course made a mistake the results blew up in her face and destroyed her mind.
Ally would never be the same and it would always be all Valentina's fault. This event would of course change all of their lives and most of them for the world. Voltaine would be forced to watch his sister Allyson be forced into and kept at St. Mungo's a place she would quickly grow to detest. He would have to relearn how to deal with his sister all again. He doesn't blame her for the way she's changed, but it was still a very hard thing to accept. His sister Valentina would run away to the states and would become some sort of famous singer making lots of money and never paying the price for her crimes. He would resent this more than anything else. She would ruin everything and things would only work out for her and no one else.
Voltaine's life would arguably be changed the most or least depending on how one looks at it. He would abruptly become his family's only chance to hand down the Carmona empire to a woman bearing the Carmona name which had been the tradition for over two centuries. Whoever he chose to marry would be his family’s only chance. This wouldn't change his life too much physically. His mother would perhaps become just a little more attentive to his love life than usual, but things would mostly stay the same. Except perhaps from Voltaine's perspective who had always seen marriage as his chance to escape from his mother's ever tightening hold. He had always believed when he found a proper woman and settled down his mother would fade into the background leaving him to the whims of the new woman in his life. Except now with his family's empire and traditions weighing on that one choice Voltaine knows his mother will never allow him to pick just any woman he's fond of, but only a woman she believes would hold up the traditions his family believed so strongly in. While this event would change his future drastically at least in his view physically very little would change in his life.
He would return to Hogwarts and still be pretty much the same boy. Just a little less hopeful than before.
