character name ; Virgil Alexander Lazander
nickname(s) ; Laz, though really Virgil does not approve of nicknames.
age ; 18
date of birth ; October 27, 1990
blood status; Pure
sexual orientation ; Straight
wand ; 11 inch yew with Chimera Scale Core
affiliation ; Virgil supports only himself and his interests. He once supported the DE's but he has recently decided they are ineffectual and obsolete.
the appearance
height & weight ; Virgil is a tall boy he tops in at exactly 6’3 this combined with the fact that he weighs a measly 150 leaves him with a nearly skeletal frame. He is not quite emaciated, but he is rather close. There is not an extra ounce of fat to be found anywhere on him. He does not seem to be overly muscled but he is strong enough despite the fact that he looks to be little more than bone and skin.
hair ; His hair is a plain slightly greasy black color. Virgil tends to wear his hair a bit on the long side with severely straight bangs. It is obvious that the boy pays very little attention to his hair. And other than brushing and washing it Virgil wastes no other time with it.
eyes ; He has very heavy unkempt eyebrows brooding over his very dark brown eyes. His eyes really are on their own quite unextrodinary however the vicious coldness in his eyes certainly does catch the attention. His eyes make it clear how much he hates the world as a while that he doesn’t need to say a word to make it obvious just how hopeless the world is.
facial features ; Virgil possess a rather squareish head. Somewhat thin lips which are almost always sneering devilishly. His most noticeable feature is he rather large and wide nose. His chin is slightly pointed and very strong. The boy’s skin is pale bordering on pallid it’s very obvious he spends very little time out in the sunlight.
distinguishing features ; Virgil really doesn’t possess any distinguishing features unless you count his rather large nose. He does possess two scars. One right above his left eye and another long scar along the entire side of his right thumb.
style ; Style wise he tends to lean towards ties, button up shirts, and anything that seems a bit outdated. His only real attempt for style is the eyeliner is he known to wear mostly to distract from his rather prominent nose and it doesn’t hurt that the eyeliner does tend to emphasize that I’ll gut you look.
play by ; Brendon Urie
the personality
likes ; Muggle Serial Killers This is a newer like for Virgil as he's only recently discovered the amusing world of muggle killers thanks to a gift from his young protoge Odin. He is fairly contempteous of all things muggle, but he will give credit to the individuals in his book for being particuarly creative. He finds the whole subject to be very amusing. He takes quite a bit of pleasure in reading about what these 'muggle monsters' have done and consider just how he could improve upon their techiniques. He also enjoys the looks some people give him when they see exactly what book he's finding so funny.
Pain Virgil is no masochist but he is one hell of a sadist. There is few things that makes him as excited as hurting someone. There is no sound sweeter than the scream of pain. Of course Virgil is an equal opportunity pain sort of person he likes emotional pain almost as much as physical pain. Of course the physical will always win out, because it’s much more fun to physically hurt someone that it is to emotionally hurt them. Even if the emotional hurt does last longer.
Intimidation It is of course impossible to intimidate Virgil, but he does rather enjoy intimidating others. He loves the fact that he can walk through the hallways and cause people to scatter with just a look. When people shiver or shrink back from his presence is even better. When bored the boy will almost always work on his intimidation skills.
Women Virgil is indeed a big fan of women. Of course by women he means only the best and most beautiful and properly behaved of the pureblood class. He appreciates most women in an oddly completely not sexual way. He enjoys looking at them, but save for one very special woman none of them are good enough to be with him. However he can still appreciate the fineness that some of these women possess. Of course the more malicious and backhanded they are the better. Virgil is known to be fairly tolerant of the women who meet his high standards, putting up with things that he would not normally tolerate.
Control This is of course no surprise, but Virgil loves control. Not necessarily on a large scale, but more a personal scale. He likes being in control of his life and the weaker people around him. He has no desire to control those he feels to be nearly his equals, but others he enjoys making them jump.
dislikes ; Filth Virgil naturally dislikes almost everything but Filth is at the very top of a very long list. And he does not mean literal filth. He’d rather deal with mud and dirt all day long than deal with one non-pureblood person. In Virgil’s world if you are not pureblooded you are worse than nothing you’re a walking target. He has no patience or tolerance for them.
Blood Traitors If there is anything worse than filth and that is of course a big if, but if there was one thing Virgil disliked more than filth it would be blood traitors. He is not quite sure which is worse. He knows that filth is born that way so really should be a tiny bit better than the purebloods who turn against their heritage, but he can’t help but think that at least the Pureblood can be taught to stick to their own kind. Despite this debate Traitors are not people that Virgil tolerates easily.
The Ministry There is not group that Virgil is more scornful of than the Ministry of magic. He can’t believe that anyone lets such a bumbling group of morons to govern them. He truly resents that he has to follow rules and laws set by filth and incompetents. The day the ministry falls will be a grand day in Virgil’s books.
Food The boy realizes that he must eat to survive but the boy truly despises the waste of time food is. Shoveling food into your mouths like some sort of animal is not Virgil’s idea of time well used. He doesn’t think of food in a way of taste just nutrition. This fact does contribute to his skeletal like frame. The boy would happily never eat again if he had the choice.
Poachers Virgil is a very territorial person. He does not like when people step into something or show interesting in someone that he feels is his. He in a word doesn’t share well at all. What is his is his and anyone that tries to poach upon what is his Virgil will react violently.
strengths ; LoyaltyOne of Virgil’s biggest strengths is something most people wouldn’t expect out of someone like him. He is in fact a strongly loyal person. Of course you would have to be one hell of a person to deserve his loyalty, but if you somehow managed to get on that very short list you could confidently rely on Virgil. He would sooner rip his own arm off than betray those few people he feel are worthy of his loyalty. He would perhaps not die for even those people he holds special, but short of that he would not fail.
Terror Another thing Virgil is quite talented with is instilling fear. He is despite the fact that he is still young a master of instilling fear. He has an innate sense of people’s fears and an uncanny way of knowing exactly how to use that fear to induce the most horror. To him it’s like an art form and he does have the makes of being a master at it.
Realisitc Virgil is the sort of person who realizes exactly what’s what. He doesn’t view the world through a self-deceived vision. He knows he’s not the biggest monster out there. He knows he’s not the smartest and fastest. The boy knows that in the greater scheme of things that he will never be a leader he will always be a henchman for the person who is in charge and Virgil is realistic enough to be content with this after all everyone can’t be the head honcho.
weaknesses ; Disposition The personality trait that pretty much defines the boy is also his biggest weakness. Virgil is simply a sociopath he hates most people and the world on a large scale. What’s worse is that he is enough of a sociopath to do something about those feelings. With him it’s not if he winds up locked up or dead it’s simply a matter of when.
Fearless This is something very few people would think of as a strength, but in Virgil it’s a weakness one that will probably get him killed. Virgil was simply born with out that little voice that tells you to run. Virgil could know that doing something would cause his death and he simply wouldn’t have the necessary fear to make himself stop. This trait will in all likelihood get him in a situation so far over his head that death will be the only option.
Indulgent Unsurprisingly enough Virgil is not very good at reigning in his urges. He does what he wants when he wants without even trying to control most of his urges. This of course will cause the boy a lot of trouble after all one can only get away with so much.
boggart ; His Mother betraying him.
amortentia ; If Virgil were to smell the powerful love potion he would smell an enticing mix of blood, jasmine, sweat, and rain.
erised ; There are many things Virgil desires with a dark passion, but the biggest is to see the filth and muggles wiped from the face of the planet.
veritaserum ; That he killed his cousin Maddox and throughly enjoyed doing so.
dementor ; The day his sister came into his home stealing the attention that was his.
patronus ; Virgil hasn’t managed to produce a corporeal Patronus and in all likely-hood will never be able to produce one, but if he could it would be in the form of a Komodo Dragon. His best memory is the day his mother taught him his first harmful hex.
personality ; Virgil is not a happy sort of person. This does not mean he doesn’t have a sense of humor because he does have one a rather mean one to be perfectly honest. But Virgil is happiest when there is something to stress over or something to complain about. He does not in anyways enjoy peaceful quiet time. And will often purposely cause problems should things ever get too tranquil. The boy has no problem acting this way, because he is happiest when others are miserable and he sees no problem with his.
Being a mean-spirited boy Virgil happily collects enemies rather than friends. To be an enemy to Virgil would be rather simple. To be a friend that is far more difficult. The few friends that the boy does have will tell you that he can be rather hard to deal with at times. Though he does usually try being relatively civil. And one must definitely have a rather thick skin to get along with him. The exception to this rule is of course beautiful Pureblood girls. With women he deems to be worthy he can be rather gentlemanly if not kind. His one fault with girls is that he is not so good with the emotional stuff so he tends to give presents rather than speak about anything emotional.
Virgil is a Pureblood and he does indeed enjoy his status. And he is one of the most devout Pro-Purebloods. He has absolutely no tolerance for those below his status. He would rather dig out his own eyes then be a friend to a filthy mud blood. He also has a large problem with anyone who chooses to befriend any of those kinds of people. If you aren’t a pureblood then you are a nobody.
As unpleasant as the boy can be he is at heart an honest person and will rarely lie. Of course he can do more damage with the truth than most people. It is said that everyone has a bit of good in them and though Virgil won’t admit it he too has a few good qualities. His greatest attribute is probably his loyalty. There are few people that he will be loyal to, but those that he deems worth that honor he would die before betraying them. Finally he if he would put in effort into is a very organized person and can very efficiently make things happen. This however does often make him seem bossy.
The boy does not easily attach himself to people. The only people he really truly cares about is his family. Mostly his mother, he would massacre anyone who would even think of harming the woman.
He has a rather interesting relationship with his sister. He does love the girl, because it would crush his mother if he didn’t, but he despises her none the less. He had no desire to tolerate anyone who would take the attention of his mother from himself. He enjoys thinking of subtle ways to punish the poor girl. His hatred for the girl comes from the fact that he is sure the girl’s sole purpose is to steal the attention that was meant to be his.
School wise the boy does reasonably well. As he does have a large amount of time to study. And often exceeds due to this fact. However he does not get along with the professors and will almost always get detention when ever a teacher calls on him due to the rude remarks he almost always gives to most professors.
the school life
year ; Sixth
pet ; Virgil has no pet. He’s not a fan of Animals. His first year he brought a cat with him that was given to him by his father, but the creature mysteriously disappeared before the first week of school was up.
favourite subject ; Virgil’s Favorite Class is History of Magic. This fondness has nothing to do with the class, because it is boring, but because the teacher is as pureblood as possible.
worst subject ; Transfiguration is Virgil’s worst subject. He despises all the theory.
best spell ; Though the Crucio spell is a spell that Virgil has just recently learned. He has a natural inclination for it.
worst spell ; Virgil is almost hopeless with healing charms. Even the most basic is almost beyond his grasp.

history ; Virgil was born on a quiet night on October 27th at exactly Midnight. His parent’s were of course jubilant and peacefully content. However their peace would be short lasting. Because even as a baby Virgil was a difficult child only calming when being physically held by his mother. He would tolerate no other person touching him and would scream at the top of his lungs whenever anyone else dared to touch him.
Unlike with many unpleasant babies things did not get better as the boy grew older. When the boy was three years of age his mother brought a little girl into Virgil’s life. He was not in the least bit pleased. That little squalling thing was stealing all of his mother’s attention. It soon became very apparent that the toddler did not like the baby and their parent’s had to pay very close attention when the two were together. The one time that the two had accidentally been left alone Virgil had managed to push the baby’s bassinet out onto the front stoop of their flat. This of course wouldn’t have been a horribly bad thing if it hadn’t been in the middle of the winter. The boy was rather distraught when his mother began to cry. This would be the first time the boy had ever felt remorse. After this event Virgil’s displays of distaste became much more subtle.
Virgil discovered that he had magic at the age of five when he caused his sister to go bald. It had happened when he was playing in the kitchen with the knifes that he was told not to play with. His little brat of a sister had come and tripped over him causing him to slice his thumb open and a large cut across the girl’s calf. Both had screamed and of course their parent’s came rushing in. Virgil had waited for his mother’s arms to envelop him and make the sting go away, but the boy’s mother instead reached down and picked up little Cecilia healing her wound instantly. The boy’s father furiously refused to heal the boy and allowed the wound to scar. Virgil couldn’t care less about the cut, but rather more about the fact that he mother had picked up the little thief instead of himself. He glared furiously at the girl his hand dripping blood as he did so and he was quite happy when the girl’s hair began to fall off her head.
His Hogwarts letter of course came when he turned 11, but the boy was not even in the least bit happy to receive it and actually tore it into pieces and threw it into the rubbage bin. His was not going, because his mother wasn’t going to be there and that was that. Let it suffice to say that it was a rather unhappy boy who had literally been thrown onto the train by his father that found himself on his way to Hogwarts. He first few days were rather stormy and he managed to alienate most people who had tried to befriend him. However the boy discovered a few weeks later that he was indeed capable of surviving on his own. He still wasn’t fond of Hogwarts or the people who filled it, but he could live with it.
His year’s at Hogwarts have gone rather quietly, and the boy has managed not to get expelled. He has received more than his share of detentions, but kept his grades up doing better than a majority of other students. His only problems being the few accusations that were leveled against him, but to this date no one has been able to prove anything.
