Appearance
Physical Description
Cyrus is a tall, slender, but muscular young man. He trains hard to stay in shape for Quidditch, and has always been a fan of the outdoors. His shoulders could be broader, in his opinion, and he feels at his prime when he can sport a six-pack. Generally that happens over the summer when he has more free time on his hands. He happens to be most comfortable shirtless, and comes back from his summer vacations tanned and ready to face cold, English winters.
His fingers are long, elegant, and slightly wimpy; according to his brother. However, he claims that they work wonderfully for dealing with wands and Quaffles alike, and wouldn't trade them for any other fingers in the world. His legs are strong, athletic, and he can generally be found in knee-length shorts when the weather permits him to do so.
Cyrus has a lean face with high cheekbones. His most prominent feature would have to be his piercingly blue eyes, which stand out in sharp contrast to his black hair (which varies between extremely short to a longer length just around his chin) and dark facial hair. He has rather thin lips that are generally in a smile and he always tells girls that they are more fun to kiss.
His attire ranges depending on his mood, while also depending on the season. He likes wearing ... well, the least amount of clothes possible, generally because he likes being outside. Ties are the work of evil demons, and shoe laces are constricting. Quidditch gear must be old and worn in, and teaching gear must be extremely comfortable, or he gets moody. He's a fan of those nifty little beach pieces of jewelry that you can purchase at stands and shops near the beach, and likes the Muggle surfer look during the summer, while he tends to lean toward a rock look in the winter; skinny jeans (not extremely skinny, as he is not a girl, but not baggy pants that hang under his arse) and shirts with vests are fun. Metal rings are cool, and hurt when smacking into someone's face if he is in a scuffle. Hats are meant to keep the sun out of your face, and wearing sunglasses inside is stupid. Muggle clothes are some of the coolest things ever. His accent is some pathetic form of Australian and British meshed up into one.

Characteristics
Personality:
Cyrus can be described as an outgoing, cheerful, studious person. He is desperately loyal to his friends, and holds his family in high regard. They come first, no matter what. His younger brother happens to be one of his best friends, and he is extremely protective of his younger sisters, both of whom have trouble getting dates because he must approve before they go out. There are times when he over-thinks situations, and that can get him into downtrodden moods. He likes to think he uses logic more than emotion when it comes to making decisions, but that isn't always true. He becomes attached pretty quickly with friends and lovers alike, and rejection is something that stings for a long time. If someone breaks his trust, it's generally gone forever, unless they can prove that they deserve it again. The man has a long memory, despite what people think, and he will bring up past events should he feel the need to remind people of their past traumas to make a point. He wasn't placed in Ravenclaw for nothing; his memory works with knowledge too, and will take on any contender who wants to match wits. Mercifully, he isn't someone to boast about being smart, and generally won't bring things like that up unless asked.
Cyrus has always been a fan of the outdoors, no matter what the weather is. He loves all types of terrain, ranging from desert to snowy mountains; everything totally rocks his socks. Hiking is a way to set his mind at ease, and most of his dates somehow involve the outdoors. Whenever he does marry, Cyrus needs a woman who will tolerate the elements, otherwise it won't work out very well in the end. He tries Muggle sports too; biking, waterskiing, surfing... It's all enjoyable.
Quidditch fits the requirements of his outdoor sport, and he played for his house team back in school for three years. The boy made a pretty decent Keeper, but he never thought he was good enough to play for a national team. It turned out he was more than qualified and joined when he was twenty. Since it wasn't a full-time job, he found he could earn money, play sport, and pursue other areas without having to worry about too much. All in all, playing Quidditch (as a hobby sometimes, it seems) is a passion, one that won't be going away until his poor bones and muscles won't let him get on a broom anymore.
Sooner or later, Cyrus would like to settle down and have a family. Children are awesome. Everything about them - even the annoying stuff - is pretty damn cool. Little hands. Big eyes. Curious minds. Cyrus enjoys spending time with all his little cousins, and would happily babysit on his days off. One day, he'd like at least three of his own babies with a beautiful wife. He'd also like to grow old with the woman of his dreams, and be the married couple who goes for walks every night and gossips about the neighbours. Not exactly very 'manly', so he keeps that desire to himself. As for relationships, currently Cyrus is single, and wants a woman who understands that he has a hectic career from time to time. He plays for a Quidditch team in Australia, while also wants to get a teaching career off the ground before he hits thirty. When he is in a relationship, Cyrus is a physically affectionate person. Public displays of affection = his gig. He likes handholding, waist hugging, snogging for the world to see... the whole nine yards. It's not that he wants everyone to know that he's in a relationship, it's just his way of expressing how much he cares for the girl.
Discussions on blood purity is irritating; don't bring them up with Cyrus. He can't stand the notion that being pure shows validation, nor will he ever understand why people think that. It's a touchy subject, and one of the main things that can get him riled up.
Teaching ftw. Back when he was in school, he used to watch his teachers, and he would be in sheer awe of their job. It must take courage to get up in front of a room full of skeptical teenagers and try to drill knowledge into their skull. It was in sixth year when he realized that he wanted to become a professor, preferably in his subject of highest skill; Charms. It combined two passions into one, teaching did; children and knowledge.
He tends to get very hyper whenever he is teaching. The whole notion gets him excited, and he will slowly get more passionate as the lesson goes on. If the students aren't as interested as he is... well, shucks to them, because he's having an awesome time! The man likes to think he is a creative teacher, and his lessons are usually well-thought and he has a tendency to give interesting detentions when someone pushes him to his limits. They don't happen often, because he thinks they are a huge waste of time, but when they do, they tend to be humiliating.
Cyrus likes to know where he comes from, but that doesn't mean he stays in one place for too long. When he isn't working, the man loves to travel. His favourite places are generally areas of the world that are considered below par for high quality; third world, they are called. But those are the best! Villages are his favourite destinations to hit up while exploring Africa, Asia, and India, while sometimes crossing oceans to see some of South America. He likes to really take in the culture when he goes abroad, and can turn into quite the geek if there are museums around. Culture = fun stuff. Hanging out with pure locals, despite not being able to speak the same language is even better. To a lot of people that can be daunting, but Cyrus sees it as a challenge to overcome, and a new experience to chronicle in his travel logs. As it stands, he's filled out over two dozen books with detailed accounts of his travels, and plans to keep doing it until he fills a bookcase.

Residence: Since his parents moved back to Australia while he was in school, Cyrus has a home in both Britain and Australia. In the United Kingdom, he owns a small flat in London, which he rarely ever uses. At Hogwarts, he has a staff dormitory, and back in Australia he inherited his uncle's beach house when the man passed away several years ago. Apparently Cyrus was his favourite nephew. Suck it, Boris. :]
History:
Cyrus is the eldest son of Francine and Bernard O'Toole. His father, an Australian Auror, was stationed in England when he met Francine, and it seemed like love at first sight. They were married within the first six months of their relationship, and Cyrus soon followed afterward. He was a pretty mellow baby, and seemed happiest when both of his parents were home to look after him. They settled in a comfortable house in northern England, about a half hour drive away from the Welsh border, and about a year later they were blessed with yet another baby boy. This one was named Boris, and he was a big larger than Cyrus, but the two seemed to get along pretty well. Two boys were certainly a handful for one mother, and Bernard worked a lot, which meant he wasn't always home to help. The first two years of marriage were tense, though the children never caught wind of it. The two adults had a feeling they had married too quickly, but with two babies in the household, there was no backing out of it now. They worked through their differences, and Bernard had to step down from some job offers in order to be home and around the children more often, which made his wife extremely happy. He didn't realize it at first, but it also brought him and his sons closer together. Four years later, the first girl came into the family; Sydney Doreen O'Toole. She was named after Francine and Bernard's mothers, and the boys were fascinated. Never had there been another girl in the family, and she was FUN! Well, not fun, but different. A year passed, and the last member of the family was born; Nora. At last Bernard and his wife decided enough was enough, and they tried their best to keep from getting pregnant again anytime soon.
Cyrus had a pretty average childhood. He and his brother were extremely close since they were close to one another in age, and they spent the majority of their time playing together outside, or making forts inside. They were both athletic, and would occasionally play a game of football with the Muggle children in the nearby neighbourhood. His parents never stressed the difference between blood purity and Muggles, so Cyrus was raised in an environment lacking prejudice. His sisters were also close to each other, as they were very close in ages, and the four had a tendency to hang out by gender until they were old enough to realize that they weren't so different.
The O'Toole family was rather large, which meant Cyrus had many, many cousins popping in and out at all points of the year. He matured quickly, since most of them were older and wouldn't tolerate childish ways, and his brother followed suit. The girls stayed childish just a little while longer, but they soon noticed that their cousins gave them less attention when they acted spoiled or immature, and figured they should try and act older to please them.
Despite the fact he was half Australian, Cyrus was asked to attend Hogwarts because he was living in the United Kingdom. He was quite nervous to go, and didn't want to leave his family, but he soon felt excited when his mother told him all the old stories of her youth there. Plus, the famous Harry Potter was only a year older than he was, which meant he would get to see him! Excellent. And so, when he was eleven, Cyrus left home and headed for Hogwarts, ready to swallow up as much wizarding knowledge as he could. Unlike his brother, Cyrus simply adored literature, and had gotten his brains from his father. There was no wonder why he was sorted into Ravenclaw. He was a little disappointed that he wouldn't get to see Harry Potter much, but he soon got over it. Ravenclaws seemed pretty cool, anyway. He integrated into boarding school life pretty quickly, and decorated his dorm room to his liking (along with his new mates, of course), wrote home at least once every two weeks, and did well in his classes. He wasn't one for Potions, really, but he took a liking to anything that dealt with a wand; Transfigurations, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts... Despite the fact his first year teacher was a total poof. Lockhart. Bah.
In his third year, the rumours of Voldemort's return were up and flying, though he tried not to take notice. His younger brother had been sorted into Hufflepuff, and his sisters would be on their way soon. His home life was always stable when he went back for summer holidays, and they were taking more trips back to Australia than ever before. In his fifth year, he joined the Ravenclaw House Quidditch team as Keeper, and a year later his brother joined the Hufflepuff one to play Beater. That year, Sydney started school, and Nora followed when Cyrus was in his final year. He was a member of Dumbledore's Army, so that meant time with Harry Potter (cool beans - he was a really nice guy!), and he later tried desperately to stay behind and help fight when the Battle of Hogwarts erupted in his sixth year. Some tried to drag him out, but he managed to hide in an empty classroom until the students had been evacuated, and then joined the fight. In the aftermath, he was left with a broken nose, a fractured shoulder, and his head was nearly cracked open, but he felt pretty damn pleased with himself. He had fought Death Eaters! And won! Well, he had help a lot of the time, but there was one point where he pushed one of them down the stairs and then ran like Hell... That was considered a victory!
Once he graduated, his parents gave him the awful news; they were moving back to Australia. His father's parents were sick, and he wanted to be close in case something happened. Cyrus worried about his siblings in school, so he volunteered to live in Hogsmeade for a little while to keep tabs on them while his parents moved house. He didn't need to work then, simply because his dad footed the bill, but he was itching for a job. Once his parents were settled in Perth, he moved down with them, realizing that his siblings really didn't need him there watching at all times. His brother graduated a year later, and came down to live with them. The girls came home for the summer, and then went back to finish their schooling. They, however, preferred to stay in England, as they liked it more than Australia, and wouldn't move down with their parents. During that time period, Cyrus and Boris auditioned to be on the Woollongong Warriors Quidditch team, and they were shocked when they were accepted. Boris took up the position as a full-time Beater, but Cyrus did not want his entire life to be dedicated to Quidditch practice, and opted for reserve Keeper. He still played matches, but not as much as his brother did.
He took this time off, whenever he wasn't training, to travel. At first, he only ventured up to Asia, since that was the closest continental landmass to Australia. Cyrus trekked between rural villages, did all the tourist things, and hit up countries like Vietnam, Thailand, India, Nepal, and then went to the major cities in China. It was all a lot of fun, and he then discovered his passion for traveling. He later purchased a flat in England that he used as a base, and traveled down into Africa, touring the continent over a period of two months, and then went east to the Arabian countries, loving them all. It was a new personal goal to go to every continent at some point in his life, while balancing Quidditch and a family. As he got older, his desire for a wife and children grew, and he was always tempted to take one of the children he met on his travels home with him and simply call them his own kid. He never did, mind you... They were just thoughts.
When he was twenty-six, he was invited by Quinn O'Connor to teach Charms at Hogwarts. He had expressed his want to teach a few years earlier, and kept in regular correspondence with the current Headmaster, hoping that when a position opened up, he would be the first one the man notified. And guess what, he was? The position, as it stands, it supposed to be temporary, but we'll see.
